Message from the Chairman |
|
Over the past eight years it
has remained a great honor to serve our youth and the International membership
of the 100 as Chairman of the Board. We began these eight years under the
banner "Together, We Know No Bounds." We knew then, and our dedicated members
have consistently shown, that our collective efforts as mentors change lives.
As a united organization, we have a great future ahead of us. Our theme for
this year is "The 100 as One." One mission, one cause, one network of Chapters
reinforce the power of one united organization. Click here to view more details on The 100 As One.
Each year we rededicate ourselves as mentors and role models. We are keenly
aware of the disparity of African American male teachers and that we remain for
far too many the only male adults in some of our mentees lives. This is of
critical importance to our young men. The uniqueness of the 100 is that we
sustain our mentoring relationships from ages 8 through 18 and then through
trade school, college and into a thriving career all from a Black male's
perspective. Both male and female mentees are so positively impacted that some
return to mentor younger students as members of our Collegiate 100 program or a
members of a 100 Chapter. The 100's mentoring cycle is alive, well and
continually adding value to the world.
